Christine & Tom’s Wildwood Engagement

When Christine suggested that Kim and I photograph her and Tom at the Wildwood boardwalk I immediately thought it was a great idea for something a little different. We originally picked a date it April but it turned out to be a bit on the freezing cold side that day so we pushed it back to this past weekend which worked out perfectly. We got great weather that day and the boardwalk and rides were all open! We started out taking a walk down to the beach and the sun cooperated perfectly and gave us some nice warm light as Christine and Tom played around near the edge of the water. After that we headed up to a few colorful building on the boardwalk which made for some great backgrounds. It started to get dark so we headed over to one of the piers that had rides on them and managed to work around the tight crowds to get a few shots with the colorful lights of the boardwalk in them. We had a great time hanging out with Christine and Tom, they are both always joking around and have a great sense of humor that is dare I say a bit twisted just like mine! Kim and I are really looking forward to this wedding coming up at the Fonthill Castle and Museum which looks to be an awesome location. Below are a few of my favorites from our night in Wildwood.

Karla & Mike’s Engagement at Batsto Village

Karla and Mike were such a playful couple it made this shoot so much fun for us. I would ask Mike to make Karla laugh and he would say “I don’t have to do anything” and the both of them would burst into laughter. We had a beautiful spring day out at Batsto Village and we wandered around, chatted about the wedding day, and took some photos. They both naturally walked into each new setting and just started acting like themselves which was exactly what I was looking for and I think it really shows in the shots we were able to get. Kim and I are really looking forward to this wedding coming up but we’ve got a bit of a wait since it’s in 2011. Below are just a few of the shots I liked from the day, it was hard to pick I liked a lot of them.

Lauren & Chris Smithville Village Engagement

I can pretty much sum this one up easily – non stop laughter – it was great! Kim and I met Lauren and Chris at Smithville Village this past Monday and spent some time photographing them in all the different areas there. Every once in a while we were shooting for more serious expressions and the two of them would burst out in laughter which made for some great shots. I’m looking forward to capturing that same interaction between them on the wedding day coming up, it’s going to make my job so easy! After the shoot they invited us to grab some food with them and we got to hang out and chat about the wedding day, thanks again guys! Below are a few of my favorite shots from the day.

Rebecca & Mike’s Engagement in Philadelphia

This was our second attempt at an engagement session with Rebecca & Mike, since our first try was foiled by bad weather. Kim and I met them this past Saturday at Washington Square park in Philadelphia even though 30 minutes before we were supposed to start it was pouring rain in the city. I called Rebecca and we decided to go for it, especially since they had just driven up from Virginia (don’t worry they came to watch the Phillies game too). It was slightly cloudy when we started but the weather was beautiful, not too hot and it had stopped raining.

Mike has that wonderful ability to make Rebecca smile on command which coincidentally I must have asked him to do for us 78 times that day! The two of them were great together, super nice and always keeping each other smiling, it made our job easy. They are both Phillies fans and had asked if we could take a few shots of them with one of the many Philly Phanatic statues spread throughout Philadelphia. Rebecca found one not to far from the park we started at and we made our way over there to grab a quick shot with the statue. We had a great day with them and by the time we walked back to the park the sun was shining and we wrapped up the session with a few last shots in some gorgeous light. We are looking forward to the wedding which will be at Smithville Inn and is obviously going to be a great day!

Kate & Josh’s Cape May Engagement

I’ll set the scene…. Kim and I are hanging out next to the car on Beach Avenue in Cape May, NJ right in front of Congress Hall. We see Kate and Josh walking down the sidewalk to meet up with us for their engagement shoot. It’s not hard to spot them Kate is literally jumping up and down and waving as she walks down the side walk. That’s pretty much how this engagement shoot went, these two are constantly having fun and keeping each other laughing. There was climbing in a tree, “can we get a shot in front of the giant beer sign?” (of course), and fun on the beach to finish things off. The evening ended with one of the nicest sunsets I’ve seen in quite some time, without a single other person on the beach! Below are a few of my favorites from the day, we hit a lot of locations and got a lot of variety. I’m really looking forward to their wedding coming up this September at the Carriage House in Galloway, NJ. On to the photos….

Ivianna at 1 Month Old

Baby Ivianna has arrived. My good friends Dave & Shannon had Kim and I over to their home to photograph 1 month old Ivianna. We created some cool maternity portraits for them a little while ago so now it was time to photograph the beautiful baby girl. We had a lot of fun and it was actually a bit more challenging than I thought it would be. It was my first attempt at baby portraits so I didn’t quite know what to expect but I think we managed to get some good shots and I’m really happy with how it turned out. Once she fell asleep we were able to place her in a bunch of different poses and locations, even on the pool table! Thanks to Dave and Shannon for having us take their first child’s pictures. You can tell they are great parents already and they both seem so happy. On to a few of my favorite pics.

Devonn & Tim’s Philadelphia Engagement

I went to high school with Tim so it was great news when I saw his Facebook status change to “engaged” last year. Even better when I started talking to him about photographing his wedding. Devonn and Tim are going to have a wedding at The Chelsea in Atlantic City this July which I’m sure will be fantastic. They are a great couple and the location is going to be awesome.

Kim and I met them at Washington Square in Philadelphia this past Saturday. It was one of those perfect spring days, not too hot, not too cold, and the sun was shining as the trees showed shades of purple, pink and green, everything was coming back to life after a long cold winter. It was a blast hanging out with them, I’m not sure if they know it but they are both really comfortable in front of the camera and they did great just being into each other and ignoring us, which sometimes is kinda what we ask our couples to do anyway. We all spent a nice afternoon just wandering around the park and some of the streets surrounding it and had a great time. Kim and I always have fun with this job but there are days like that when it’s perfect to be outside and you have a fun couple in front of the camera that just make this job incredible. Below are a few of my favorites as well as the photo up top which is one of my personal favorite images, hope you enjoy.

Shannon and Ed – Ocean City Engagement for KGM Expressions

I was second photographer for Kim at Shannon and Ed’s Engagement shoot on the beach in Ocean City, NJ. What a fun couple they were, they were constantly playing around and laughing and having fun. Our job doesn’t get any easier. They are both huge Phillies fans (they busted out the shirts!), and the wedding reception was actually held at the ball park in Philly. They were also willing to walk up the Longport-Ocean City bridge for some pictures on the bridge and with Ocean City in the background. It was a bit of a hike and I think there were actually 50mph winds (I’m exaggerating a little) but they hung in there and we got some really different views from up on the bridge. It was really nice to stop and take in the view from up there. Thanks Shannon and Ed for being so cool and making the shoot so fun. On to a few pics I selected.

Candice’s First Communion Portraits

As you can see from some of the photos below we certainly had fun with Candice during her portrait session this morning. My cousin Amy contacted me a while ago and asked if Kim and I would take some photos of her daughter for her first communion. I told her we had not photographed any first communion photos before but we would be happy to give it a shot. We had a lot of fun, Candice is certainly a character. She was constantly laughing and making us laugh like when she suggested “I’ll push you into the water” as I balanced over a small fountain pond to get a photo. It was a little chilly out but the sun was shining and gave us some great light and Candice was a trooper and I think we got some good pics. Below are a few of my favs.

Denielle & John Margate NJ Beach Engagement for KGM Expressions

I was second photographer for Kim and we met Denielle and John in Margate NJ on the beach. The two of them spend a lot of time in Margate during the warmer months and they hang out on the beaches a lot, so it was the perfect place to have an engagement shoot for them. Both of them had us laughing the whole time and they kept each other laughing, they were such a fun couple. We even got a chance to hang out with them for a bit after the shoot, which was really cool. Here are a few of my favorite shots from that evening.
