Rebecca & Mike’s Engagement in Philadelphia

This was our second attempt at an engagement session with Rebecca & Mike, since our first try was foiled by bad weather. Kim and I met them this past Saturday at Washington Square park in Philadelphia even though 30 minutes before we were supposed to start it was pouring rain in the city. I called Rebecca and we decided to go for it, especially since they had just driven up from Virginia (don’t worry they came to watch the Phillies game too). It was slightly cloudy when we started but the weather was beautiful, not too hot and it had stopped raining.

Mike has that wonderful ability to make Rebecca smile on command which coincidentally I must have asked him to do for us 78 times that day! The two of them were great together, super nice and always keeping each other smiling, it made our job easy. They are both Phillies fans and had asked if we could take a few shots of them with one of the many Philly Phanatic statues spread throughout Philadelphia. Rebecca found one not to far from the park we started at and we made our way over there to grab a quick shot with the statue. We had a great day with them and by the time we walked back to the park the sun was shining and we wrapped up the session with a few last shots in some gorgeous light. We are looking forward to the wedding which will be at Smithville Inn and is obviously going to be a great day!

Nicole & Frank Philadelphia Engagement

Nicole and Frank literally could not stop smiling at each other. Kim and I met this great couple at Washington Square in Philadelphia on a perfect sunny Sunday morning. From the moment we pointed the cameras at them they began to play, laugh and just have fun together. Honestly they made our jobs easy…. oh wait, I mean we took special care with each and every photo taken, haha. Seriously though, when couples have fun like this together (which they always seem to) it makes for amazing photos. I know I’ve said that before on this blog but it’s simply the truth. I feel like we were able to get a great mixture of playful, fun, and romantic shots that morning and here are a few of my selected favorites.

Leigh & Dave Engagement

This past Saturday I and of course Kim went to Philadelphia to meet Leigh and Dave in Rittenhouse Square. Leigh and Dave were my first wedding booking and we’ll be photographing their wedding coming up in September. These two showed up ready for action, they were both dressed great and as soon as we started taking the first pictures I could tell they were going to have fun. They immediately began to play around and laugh, which kicks ass, as soon as I see that I get excited because I know the shoot is gonna be a good one. When a couple can laugh and play around together in front of the camera as though I’m not even there that is when I get some of the best pictures. An engagement session and a wedding day is all about the couple, not the photographer and when a couple interacts like Leigh and Dave you can tell they are in love and so into each other, it really makes the photos great.
