Megan & Ryan’s Engagement at Longwood Gardens

Megan and Ryan where such a fun couple to start out the new year. The entire shoot was constant laughter and smiles from both of them but especially Megan. Ryan can make her laugh at any given moment which of course made for some awesome photos. Kim and I met them out at Longwood Gardens for a great shoot with the amazing Christmas lights display they have out there every year. We all got lucky and had some beautiful evening sunlight and we were all able to spend some time outside. Kim and I had so much fun hanging out with Megan and Ryan we know the wedding will be a blast and we’re really looking forward to working with this fun couple again.

Natalie & Jim’s Engagement at Longwood Gardens

Kim and I met up with Natalie & Jim at Longwood Gardens with the goal being to take some shots outside and then head into the gorgeous Christmas display at the gardens. Natalie & Jim were such troopers, they stuck it out in the freezing cold and even managed to keep smiling the whole time they were outside. We all had lots of smiles and laughs that evening and these two were just great to work with. They said “sure” when we asked them to go outside for the sunset and just went for it when we asked them to kiss in front of all the other guests at the gardens. Kim and I are certainly looking forward to the wedding which I’m sure won’t be that cold! I posted a few of my favorite shots below and hope you enjoy them.

Devonn & Tim’s Wedding at The Chelsea Atlantic City

It’s really a great experience to be a part of a friend’s wedding and that’s exactly what Kim and I had on Devonn & Tim’s wedding. As I mentioned in the post about their engagement session Tim and I went to high school together. They had their wedding at The Chelsea in Atlantic City, which is an incredible location. They both got ready in a different penthouse suite with incredible views of Atlantic City (the girls got the beach view!). We had plenty of time with both of them and it has great to just hang out with everyone while they got all ready for the wedding day. Everybody was so relaxed and fun it made the job really easy.

Devonn and Tim had decided to have a first look which as I’m sure you know by now, we love! After everybody was ready Kim and I found a nice location in one of the empty restaurants in The Chelsea for them to have a private moment together and see each other for the first time. Next we took advantage of the many places this hotel has to offer for great photographs. We didn’t venture outside too much since it was a bit on the warm side and the ceremony was outside right on the beach so we got to enjoy the beautiful sunshine and blue skies.

The ceremony was followed up with an awesome party right at the hotel and we even got a chance to sneak Devonn and Tim away for a few minutes of sunset photos which turned out great. It was a wonderful day and Kim and I are both so happy they chose us to be a part of their wedding day. Below are a few of my favorite photos from the day, I hope you enjoy.

Christine & Tom’s Wildwood Engagement

When Christine suggested that Kim and I photograph her and Tom at the Wildwood boardwalk I immediately thought it was a great idea for something a little different. We originally picked a date it April but it turned out to be a bit on the freezing cold side that day so we pushed it back to this past weekend which worked out perfectly. We got great weather that day and the boardwalk and rides were all open! We started out taking a walk down to the beach and the sun cooperated perfectly and gave us some nice warm light as Christine and Tom played around near the edge of the water. After that we headed up to a few colorful building on the boardwalk which made for some great backgrounds. It started to get dark so we headed over to one of the piers that had rides on them and managed to work around the tight crowds to get a few shots with the colorful lights of the boardwalk in them. We had a great time hanging out with Christine and Tom, they are both always joking around and have a great sense of humor that is dare I say a bit twisted just like mine! Kim and I are really looking forward to this wedding coming up at the Fonthill Castle and Museum which looks to be an awesome location. Below are a few of my favorites from our night in Wildwood.

Devonn & Tim’s Philadelphia Engagement

I went to high school with Tim so it was great news when I saw his Facebook status change to “engaged” last year. Even better when I started talking to him about photographing his wedding. Devonn and Tim are going to have a wedding at The Chelsea in Atlantic City this July which I’m sure will be fantastic. They are a great couple and the location is going to be awesome.

Kim and I met them at Washington Square in Philadelphia this past Saturday. It was one of those perfect spring days, not too hot, not too cold, and the sun was shining as the trees showed shades of purple, pink and green, everything was coming back to life after a long cold winter. It was a blast hanging out with them, I’m not sure if they know it but they are both really comfortable in front of the camera and they did great just being into each other and ignoring us, which sometimes is kinda what we ask our couples to do anyway. We all spent a nice afternoon just wandering around the park and some of the streets surrounding it and had a great time. Kim and I always have fun with this job but there are days like that when it’s perfect to be outside and you have a fun couple in front of the camera that just make this job incredible. Cherie & Karl’s Wedding at Washington Crossing Inn

When I first met Cherie she was concerned that having her wedding in November and an outdoor ceremony may be the ingredients for a few frozen guests. On the wedding day of Cherie & Karl the weather could not have been more perfect, the sun was shining and the temperature was cool but not cold, it was a beautiful outdoor ceremony at Washington Crossing Inn. After the ceremony Kim and I had a chance to take some of the portraits of the bride and groom in gorgeous sunlight right before sunset, then we all headed inside for the reception which was also held at the Inn. We had just as much fun at the wedding as we did at the engagement shoot with these two. Cherie & Karl are nonstop entertainment, they are always having fun and keep themselves and everyone around them laughing which is one thing I always love about a couple. Heather & Jim’s Wedding

Heather & Jim’s wedding went down great. Kim and I arrived at Heather’s moms house nice and early and we got to hang out with everybody while they got ready. The whole family was great and made us feel right at home and we had a great time there, it was like we weren’t even working. Then off to the Seaview Baptist Church which has some great lighting for photographing the ceremony by the way. We took a few shots of the newly married couple right after the ceremony, then we were headed to Resorts Casino for the reception which was held in the Boogie Nights Club, which was amazing.
The lighting was so incredible in that place, as you can see below it made for some incredible photos and everybody was dancing and having a great time so it flew by. Thanks again Heather and Jim for a great day and I hope you two like your pics.

I really like the dress with the red in it, it's a nice touch.

Heather's good friend did her makeup and she did a great job, the two of them were laughing so much while they were doing this, it was great.

A little color this time – Aquarium

I went to Adventure Aquarium in camden NJ over the past Christmas break along with my family and Kim. Here are a few colorful photos from that trip. It was a very challenging place to shoot, not much light some times and difficult to use a flash other times. I was able to use my fisheye lens quite a few time though, which was great, it has such a neat look. On to the images:
