Karla & Mike’s Engagement at Batsto Village

Karla and Mike were such a playful couple it made this shoot so much fun for us. I would ask Mike to make Karla laugh and he would say “I don’t have to do anything” and the both of them would burst into laughter. We had a beautiful spring day out at Batsto Village and we wandered around, chatted about the wedding day, and took some photos. They both naturally walked into each new setting and just started acting like themselves which was exactly what I was looking for and I think it really shows in the shots we were able to get. Kim and I are really looking forward to this wedding coming up but we’ve got a bit of a wait since it’s in 2011. Below are just a few of the shots I liked from the day, it was hard to pick I liked a lot of them.

Lauren & Chris Smithville Village Engagement

I can pretty much sum this one up easily – non stop laughter – it was great! Kim and I met Lauren and Chris at Smithville Village this past Monday and spent some time photographing them in all the different areas there. Every once in a while we were shooting for more serious expressions and the two of them would burst out in laughter which made for some great shots. I’m looking forward to capturing that same interaction between them on the wedding day coming up, it’s going to make my job so easy! After the shoot they invited us to grab some food with them and we got to hang out and chat about the wedding day, thanks again guys! Below are a few of my favorite shots from the day.

Kate & Josh’s Cape May Engagement

I’ll set the scene…. Kim and I are hanging out next to the car on Beach Avenue in Cape May, NJ right in front of Congress Hall. We see Kate and Josh walking down the sidewalk to meet up with us for their engagement shoot. It’s not hard to spot them Kate is literally jumping up and down and waving as she walks down the side walk. That’s pretty much how this engagement shoot went, these two are constantly having fun and keeping each other laughing. There was climbing in a tree, “can we get a shot in front of the giant beer sign?” (of course), and fun on the beach to finish things off. The evening ended with one of the nicest sunsets I’ve seen in quite some time, without a single other person on the beach! Below are a few of my favorites from the day, we hit a lot of locations and got a lot of variety. I’m really looking forward to their wedding coming up this September at the Carriage House in Galloway, NJ. On to the photos….

Erin & Mike – Batsto Village Engagement

Mike is a good friend from high school and when I heard he was going to marry Erin I was hoping I’d get to photograph their wedding. Well, I was lucky enough to have them choose Kim and I to be their photographers on the wedding day and on an unusually warm and perfectly sunny day this past October we all went to Batsto Village to have some fun and take some engagement pictures. They are a great couple and you can see how much fun they have together, it’s always good to see a friend happy. I’m really looking forward to the wedding coming up this January, I know it’s going to be a blast. Now onto a few of my favorite shots from the day.

Nicole & Frank Philadelphia Engagement

Nicole and Frank literally could not stop smiling at each other. Kim and I met this great couple at Washington Square in Philadelphia on a perfect sunny Sunday morning. From the moment we pointed the cameras at them they began to play, laugh and just have fun together. Honestly they made our jobs easy…. oh wait, I mean we took special care with each and every photo taken, haha. Seriously though, when couples have fun like this together (which they always seem to) it makes for amazing photos. I know I’ve said that before on this blog but it’s simply the truth. I feel like we were able to get a great mixture of playful, fun, and romantic shots that morning and here are a few of my selected favorites.

Brenda & Abner Wedding at the Moshulu

Brenda & Abner just picked up were they left off having fun at their engagement session. Kim and I showed up at their house to photograph Brenda getting ready and I must say, what a gorgeous house. Abner pretty much built the house himself as he owns Abner’s Construction in Vineland, NJ. There were many great places to take Brendas picture as she finished her makeup and put on her beautiful wedding dress. These two really know how to make you feel at home with them and we were so comfortable and relaxed as we photographed their wedding day. We left their house to go to the beautiful Immaculate Conception church in Bridgeton which was an amazing historic building. It had such an grand look inside and out. From there we made our way to the fabulous Moshulu in Philadelphia, PA. It’s an incredible restaurant that is located on a historic boat on the Delaware River with amazing views of the city skyline and waterfront. Brenda and Abner gave us plenty of time to take lots of photos both at the church and at the Moshulu. I can’t thank them enough for such a wonderful day, when couples give us the time to play around and really get creative on their wedding day it creates an opportunity to really get some amazing pictures. It’s really great to have couples that are into their photography and give us the time we need to create great memories for them.

Elizabeth & Eric’s Engagement for KGM Expressions

I tagged along on Elizabeth and Eric’s engagement shoot for KGM Expressions. Elizabeth and Eric live in Illinois so they wanted more of a natural country setting vs. an urban setting so Kim suggested Batsto Historic Village, which turned out to be perfect. Elizabeth was wearing a bright red dress which stood out and was great for the photo session. It was another one of those hot, humid day’s but the two of them were troopers and they made it through smiling, having fun, and with laughter. Check out the pics below and you’ll see what I mean. Brenda & Abner Engagement

As soon as Brenda & Abner stepped in front of my camera they were having fun. They immediately started laughing, playing, and forgetting that the camera was there. I remember thinking, “this is going to be incredible” and I was right, their engagment shoot was so much fun. It was an incredibly hot afternoon, but that didn’t matter, everybody had fun and they kept going as we pushed them to take more and more pictures. I didn’t want to stop! Kim and I also did a few family portraits of their children and them. Thanks Brenda & Abner for a great shoot and I can’t wait for your wedding which is coming right up in a few weeks. I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Emily & Vince for KGM Expressions

About a week ago Kim invited me along to photograph her friend Emily and her boyfriend Vince at the beach. We had a blast, the two of them were always goofing around and playing together and constantly making each other laugh, which made the photos great. You have already seen some photos of Emily on this blog from our “Trash the dress” shoot with her and her sister. You may have also seen Vince from when I photographed him on a motocross track. What a couple, I could tell from the moment we started taking pictures that these two were going to be great. Christina could not stop smiling and laughing with Jeff and he was the same with her. I was glad I got to tag along with Kim for this engagement session, the wedding is going to be great. The pics speak for themselves and you can see how in love these two are.
