Nicole & Frank’s Wedding at The Mansion in Voorhees

Yet another amazing summer wedding! Kim and I have been at some great summer weddings this year already and this was another, we even had a bit cooler temps which was great. When we started with Nicole getting ready I could tell we were going to be in for a fun day. Everybody was smiling and Nicole was just so visibly happy. She invited us into the house and let us loose, we grabbed some shots of the dress, the shoes and a bunch of other details. The sunny day gave us some gorgeous light in the house where she got her dress on and we finished up with some portraits of her (and even the dog) before heading over to the ceremony.

After a beautiful ceremony it was right over to The Mansion in Voorhees, NJ for some great outdoor portraits and the reception. The grounds are great at The Mansion and Nicole and Frank gave us the time to do some shots of them and their bridal party outside and inside so we got some great variety that day. Thanks so much Nicole and Frank for having Kim and I be a part of your wedding day and we wish you the best. Now on to a few of my favorite pics from that gorgeous day.

Devonn & Tim’s Wedding at The Chelsea Atlantic City

It’s really a great experience to be a part of a friend’s wedding and that’s exactly what Kim and I had on Devonn & Tim’s wedding. As I mentioned in the post about their engagement session Tim and I went to high school together. They had their wedding at The Chelsea in Atlantic City, which is an incredible location. They both got ready in a different penthouse suite with incredible views of Atlantic City (the girls got the beach view!). We had plenty of time with both of them and it has great to just hang out with everyone while they got all ready for the wedding day. Everybody was so relaxed and fun it made the job really easy.

Devonn and Tim had decided to have a first look which as I’m sure you know by now, we love! After everybody was ready Kim and I found a nice location in one of the empty restaurants in The Chelsea for them to have a private moment together and see each other for the first time. Next we took advantage of the many places this hotel has to offer for great photographs. We didn’t venture outside too much since it was a bit on the warm side and the ceremony was outside right on the beach so we got to enjoy the beautiful sunshine and blue skies.

The ceremony was followed up with an awesome party right at the hotel and we even got a chance to sneak Devonn and Tim away for a few minutes of sunset photos which turned out great. It was a wonderful day and Kim and I are both so happy they chose us to be a part of their wedding day. Below are a few of my favorite photos from the day, I hope you enjoy.

Erin & Sal’s Wedding at Buena Vista Country Club

It started off with a lot of rain, LOTS of it, but as soon as Kim and I entered the house where Erin was getting ready she had a bright smile. This smile never faded and certainly helped to set the tone for the day. Erin was such a happy bride that I think it paid off and as soon as the ceremony finished at the beautiful Sacred Heart Church in Vineland the rain had stopped. We took a few minutes to do some portraits in the church and decided we should hurry up and get over to Buena Vista Country Club to take advantage of the sun that was starting to peak through. By the time we arrived at the reception with Erin and Sal the sun was completely shining and we were able to take advantage of the beautiful grounds for some outdoor portraits. Sal had actually composed and written a song for his lovely new wife and took a moment at the reception to sing it to her and the entire audience. We had such a great time all day long with Erin and Sal and are so thankful they decided to include us in their wedding day.

Jennifer & Richie’s Wedding at Scotland Run

That’s right, another cousin’s wedding. Kim and I are slowly becoming the family photographer which I certainly can’t complain about and I guess that means that they all like our photography, which is great. My cousin Jennifer and her now husband Richie got married at the beautiful Scotland Run Golf Club in Williamstown, NJ. Jen and Richie have two beautiful children one of which was the flower girl and their son was a bit too young to participate but they had him there for the ceremony. Richie’s parents also own Martine’s Countryside Florist‎ so there were an abundance of beautiful arrangements everywhere, check them out if you need flowers they do amazing work.

They decided to see each other before the ceremony so the whole day was pretty laid back and we had plenty of time to do pictures before the ceremony which is usually how it goes when the wedding day is scheduled this way. The golf club has a ton of great locations for photography and we were able to take advantage of the great weather and work outside quite a bit.

After the ceremony we went right into the party and man did they party. It was an awesome reception and the dance floor was packed almost all night right till the end. Kim and I were glad they asked us to be a part of their wedding day and we had a great time being there – we felt just like family (haha, bad joke).

Erin & Mike’s Winter Wedding at the Savoy Inn

Finally getting around to posting my friends Erin and Mike’s wedding. It was a cold, but beautiful day in January and Kim and I had a great time photographing their wedding. Erin’s family was so inviting and fun and of course it was great to be a part of a high school friend’s (Mike) wedding. We had plenty of time after the ceremony at the gorgeous Sacred Heart church in Vineland, NJ for pictures. It was perfect evening light and we got a chance to stop at a local park and take a few quick (it was freezing) pictures there which are some of my favorite. Then we were off to the Savoy Inn just down the road a bit again in Vineland. It looked amazing at the inn and we got a great shot of the couple on the dance floor before all the guests arrived. Thanks again to Erin and Mike for asking us to be their photographers.

Cherie & Karl’s Wedding at Washington Crossing Inn

When I first met Cherie she was concerned that having her wedding in November and an outdoor ceremony may be the ingredients for a few frozen guests. On the wedding day of Cherie & Karl the weather could not have been more perfect, the sun was shining and the temperature was cool but not cold, it was a beautiful outdoor ceremony at Washington Crossing Inn. After the ceremony Kim and I had a chance to take some of the portraits of the bride and groom in gorgeous sunlight right before sunset, then we all headed inside for the reception which was also held at the Inn. We had just as much fun at the wedding as we did at the engagement shoot with these two. Cherie & Karl are nonstop entertainment, they are always having fun and keep themselves and everyone around them laughing which is one thing I always love about a couple. Jennifer & Gary’s Wedding in Bridgeton NJ

Jennifer & Gary had the absolute most perfect sunny day in September, well actually all year for their wedding. After the beautiful ceremony at St. John’s First Lutheran Church in Bridgeton, NJ we went to a small park a few blocks from the church. This is where Jennifer told us to take as much time as we needed to give her great pictures. Kim and I became so excited when we were told we had time and a couple that was really into the photography. We started out on a bridge with a few pics there and then we wandered over towards some old buildings. We took a few shots there and that is when Kim asked to take the couple up a hill to a spot where the sun was shining through the trees. This is why having two photographers is great because I had not seen this location and it was amazing lighting. Since Jennifer and Gary were so cooperative and fun and gave us plenty of time, we were able to find quite a few cool locations and really take advantage of a beautiful day, great light, and a great couple. Here are a few of my favorite shots taken that day.

Crushed Box Photo Blog – 1 year old

It’s now fall and it’s officially 1 year since I launched this photo blog for Crushed Box Photography. It’s been an incredible year. I’ve had the chance to meet so many amazing people, from brides and grooms, families, vendors, and other photographers, it has been awesome. I decided to start this business last year thinking that if I was able to get a few weddings and a few other portraits that I would be happy. Well, it’s gone well past my expectations. Every single person I’ve photographed this year has been so much fun. One of the main goals I had when starting was to make sure I was having fun as well as the people I was photographing. I decided that I was just going to be myself and do what I like to do and I couldn’t be happier that it seems to be working. I’ve had many clients tell me that they had so much fun when they were done having their picture taken and they even like the pictures too, haha. I want people to come to Crushed Box Photography not only for the photography but also because they enjoy my personality. I try to infuse every aspect of this business with that personality, from website, to meetings, to the day I take your pictures. It makes my job so easy when I have clients that I can joke around with and just be myself and I can only hope that makes it easier for them to be in front of the camera as well.

For the people that have followed my blog and website I’m sure you’ve noticed that I also tend to post quite a few nature photos that I’ve taken on my own for fun. I’ve decided to split that off to another website that I have going and I’ll be posting most of my nature pictures at www.naturesdomain.us/blog. I’ll still occasionally post some here but if you like to see that type of photography you can see much more of it at Natures Domain as well as some other photographers that will be joining that soon.

Since it’s been a while since I’ve updated the galleries on my site today is the day for that. You can view all the updated galleries in my portfolio section.

I’m really looking forward to another year of meeting more new great people and hopefully getting to photograph some again. Thanks to each one of you.

Leigh & Dave’s Wedding at Plymouth Meeting Country Club

Leigh and Dave are back on the blog again, this time for their wedding. We had an awesome engagement shoot with them in Philly back in June and I’ve been looking forward to the wedding ever since. They certainly delivered, Leigh and Dave and their entire bridal party were such a blast. They also decided to have a first look (when Bride and Groom see each other before ceremony) which Kim and I love. I can’t begin to tell you how much easier it makes the day for photography. We usually get to take care of all the family groups and bridal party groups before the ceremony, and when planned right, this also allows us to have a lot of time photographing just the bride and groom, plus it gives them a private moment to have together when they first see each other that we can photograph as well.

Leigh was such a beautiful bride and Dave was an awesome groom and when we got the two of them together, well, you can see below, they just adore each other. I love to get fun, laughing photos, but I really love the romantic, “can’t stop touching each other” photos even more, which they performed flawlessly. From getting ready to the reception, everything was held at the gorgeous Plymouth Meeting Country Club. After portraits and the ceremony we went right into the reception which was beautiful. I was having a lot of fun playing around with the strobe light and Leigh was having fun with the microphone!

Thank you everybody who made us feel like part of the wedding and to the rocking bridal party, you guys were awesome. Thanks again Leigh and Dave for being such a great couple and having Kim and I join you on your wedding day, it was a blast. There is also something a little different at the bottom.

Brenda & Abner Wedding at the Moshulu

Brenda & Abner just picked up were they left off having fun at their engagement session. Kim and I showed up at their house to photograph Brenda getting ready and I must say, what a gorgeous house. Abner pretty much built the house himself as he owns Abner’s Construction in Vineland, NJ. There were many great places to take Brendas picture as she finished her makeup and put on her beautiful wedding dress. These two really know how to make you feel at home with them and we were so comfortable and relaxed as we photographed their wedding day. We left their house to go to the beautiful Immaculate Conception church in Bridgeton which was an amazing historic building. It had such an grand look inside and out. From there we made our way to the fabulous Moshulu in Philadelphia, PA. It’s an incredible restaurant that is located on a historic boat on the Delaware River with amazing views of the city skyline and waterfront. Brenda and Abner gave us plenty of time to take lots of photos both at the church and at the Moshulu. I can’t thank them enough for such a wonderful day, when couples give us the time to play around and really get creative on their wedding day it creates an opportunity to really get some amazing pictures. It’s really great to have couples that are into their photography and give us the time we need to create great memories for them.
